FACE TO FACE LESSONS
Lessons are taught individually. These lessons are pitched at wave 3 in the intervention pyramid (Rose Report 2009) and therefore would be suitable for children making little to no progress with regards to literacy after normal interventions have been put in place.
The lessons are highly individualised and are 50 minutes long.
The cost of the lesson is £60
The lessons are based on ‘The Hickey Multi-Sensory Language Course’ , 'Alpha to Omega' and 'Conquering Literacy' plans which are widely used by specialist dyslexia teachers.
As part of each lesson your child will be practising a wide range of skills that will support their learning inside the classroom these include:
Alphabet arc, visual and auditory memory, understanding phonetic code, phonological awareness, reading, spelling, handwriting, sentence writing, punctuation and syllables.
This will be taught in a multi-sensory approach which helps foster links in the brain allowing the child to retain and recall what has been taught. The programme is very structured and cumulative which will allow for over-learning which is vital for learners with possible dyslexia. The learner will require a minimum of 20 lessons.
LEARNING SAFARI LESSONS
In addition to the face to face lessons we will be offering lower cost and easily accessible pre-recorded online lessons. Each lesson will have interactive games and free access to a training session for parents to maximise understanding.
The aim of these lessons is to allow high quality teaching and learning at a lower cost to ensure that students are not held back from support due to cost or availability.
As all of our learners are at different stages on their learning journey you will work on a short self guided assessment to determine which stage of the Learning Safari lessons you will begin on.

TRAINING FOR SCHOOLS AND PARENTS
Training will be available as pre-recorded sessions for you to access at your preferred time. Each session will focus on different aspects of dyslexia and how we can offer support. We have successfully trained many schools and organisations across Kent. We have also provided very successful parent training that has empowered parents and carers with their new found understanding of their child's needs.
There are courses available for different audiences and tailored to the your role when supporting the student/s. Each course is one hour long at you can work through each one at your own pace.
